The Be Our Guest Restaurant marked its place on the map November 19, 2012 in the New Fantasyland expansion at Disney World. The opening and expansion completion was highly anticipated by many Disney fans worldwide. One of the best things about a Magic Kingdom vacation packages is the marvelous fare of cuisine that is available. This new addition to the Disney dining experience is a splendid addition that is sure to become a favorite of guests.
The restaurant offers a dining experience unlike any other. The attention to detail for the recreation of the beast’s castle is astounding. Diners get their choice of three separate locations to dine in: the ballroom, the library, or the West Wing. In true Disney fashion, the landscaping of the Be Our Guest Restaurant is consistent with the heartwarming tale presented in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
Worth the Wait
The word is that although there is a bit of a wait time to enter this venue, it is well worth every minute spent waiting to get in. For those that prefer not to wait so long, there are reservations available. These can be made up to 180 days in advance. TheDisney Dining Plan can also be used to enjoy your culinary creations.
Fantasyland comes to life as you are taken in to the castle and greeted by favorite characters like Beast. He makes an entry into the Grand Ballroom every 45 minutes and is available for photographs. Guests are encouraged to traverse the castle, but use caution when exploring the West Wing. Beast is very protective and private of his previous self absorption. There are souvenirs to take home in the form of castle replicas with a purchase of a non-alcoholic beverage.
Aside from the outstanding scenery, the food at this venue is magnifique. There is a lunch, dinner, desert, and of course a kids menu to choose from for your feasting pleasure. With a seating capacity of 550, any party size can be accommodated. For the younger ones, lunch menu options include delectable delights such as Mickey Meatloaf and Mahi-mahi. Additional choices include a carved turkey sandwich, pulled pork, or whole grain pasta with marinara and cheese. The kids’ dinner menu offers grilled steak, fish of the day, or whole grain macaroni. These menu options are available to children 9 and under.
Lunch items are ordered by guests through a terminal, and food is delivered directly to their table. There are guest service attendants to take cash orders as well. Included on the lunch menu for adults is a grilled steak sandwich, vegetable quiche, and braised pork. There is sure to be something on the menu that will please everyone in your party.
Dinner is at the Top in Excellence
From formal dress to fine china and silver, the spread is fabulous. The dinner menu contains creations such as pan seared salmon, grilled strip steak, and sautéed shrimp and scallops. After getting your fill on appetizers and your main course, be sure to leave room for the tasty strawberry cream cheese or triple chocolate cupcake. If you do not have quite that much room, cream puffs is also a delightful end to a satisfying meal.
The Magic Kingdom is a wonderful place for a family get-together. Dining at the Be Our Guest Restaurant will be a memorable experience that you will want to savor for many years to come and is sure to be a Disney family tradition.
